SyncTV - Don't Bother Watching

SyncTV is another website that offers video streaming and downloads of TV programming. SyncTV, created by Pioneer Electronics, offers abilities with their software that no else does. The most interesting feature is the ability to play the DVD-quality content on up to five devices in the home, and up to 10 different portable devices. With news of this ability from SyncTV last November, also stated that components that would offer compatibility with their software would be offered this year. We're still waiting for press releases of the hardware though.

Unfortunately, SyncTV can easily be summarized as "great technology with horrible content". We hope Pioneer can persuade competitors to offer their service and abilities, but we doubt it. Currently SyncTV is working on making their software work on iPhones and iPods. As for content, it's over priced [$1.99 per episode] and the selection is horrible. Although SyncTV offers some free content to watch or download, none of it is worth watching. With their free content, they do play ads, and their video resolution is amazing.

Until SnycTV improves their content and offers abilities to actually take advantage of the function of working on 5 different devices in the home, we recommend not wasting your time on SyncTV.
